“Every month, I look forward to receiving an email informing me that the latest edition of the PM World Journal is available. The breadth and quality of the articles ensure that I do not start to believe that my knowledge of project management is anywhere near complete or even that my ideas are necessarily always right. As editor of the journal, David Pells has helped me to make valuable contacts as well as providing a unique platform for open and uncensored exchange of ideas.”

“The PM World Journal serves as an essential outlet for sharing real-world project management experiences, offering a unique platform where industry practitioners and top-level experts contribute their insights. It is one of the few spaces where industrial perspectives are freely published and aligned with the knowledge of experienced project managers and thought leaders. To further enhance its impact and prestige, I hope to see PMWJ indexed in both industry and academic databases, making its valuable content even more widely recognized and citable. I truly appreciate the opportunity to contribute and engage with this global community.”

“The PMWJ community is truly global – both authors and readers are distributed around the world. It is full of resources and a wide variety of perspectives, from expert opinions to recent research work. It’s been a pleasure writing articles, advisories, tips, and viewpoints for editor and publisher David Pells since 2008. The submission and publishing process is simple and fast. David responds quickly and reliably.
One of the things I especially like is that the Journal is willing to work with a wide variety of writing styles and lengths, including shorts, series, and deep dive articles. I also like that I can link from my website directly to an author page at PM World Library that hosts many of the articles I have written for PMWJ. I’m looking forward to more years of working with David and the PM World Journal team.”

“Over the past two decades PM World Journal has been an asset to the research done by the Cranefield staff and students. It offers a valuable platform for academics and practitioners to not only publish their own papers, but also to study the papers published by others from all over the globe. Moreover, the PMWJ Library is a great asset with respect to literature resources for researchers.”

“PMWJ is an amazing space to share my ideas and connect with the wider project management world. Writing helps me structure my thoughts, connect the dots, and share my knowledge.
And once the article is published, I can send it to those that might benefit from it. No need of long explanations to provide advice for a particular case or to showcase my expertise, I can easily send them the article that best connect to the topic and continue the conversation from there.
This international community creates a sense of belonging, as it’s filled with authors and readers who are all passionate about contributing and sharing our diverse experiences on the fields of project, program and portfolio management. No matter where we are from, we are all united by a common goal of learning, growing, and having a positive impact.
One of my articles “Everyone smiles in the same language” resonated specially well and inspired some of the readers to take beautiful actions with their families and their communities. I’m really happy that my articles can uplift others and grateful for the kind feedback received. And PMWJ has been the instrument to connect the idea with the readers, otherwise, it might not have happened. I gathered the story in this letter to the Editor https://pmworldlibrary.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/pmwj129-May2023-Ancizu-Everyone-Smiles-Letter-to-Editor.pdf
As a conclusion, sincere thanks to David Pells and PMWJ for being such a positive catalyst in creating a better world and I’m grateful to be part of your team of contributing authors.”

“Management of “anything we do or attempt” is described and practiced for a long time. PM World Journal, with its massive opus, contributes to project management knowledge and cultural cohesion among people and organizations around the globe from issue to issue. For example, its contents spread:
- From the thoughtful and detailed practice of our time (GAO 2015. Best Practice for Project Schedules. US Government Accountability Office: Presented by Kurian, Tijo, 2019: PM World Journal Volume VIII, Issue XI, we believed before we knew it.
- To futuristic theoretical view (Prieto, R. 2020. A Deeper Look at the Physics of Large Context Projects. A Neo-classical Project Management Theory is Required. 2020: PM World Journal, Volume IX, Issue VIII, we acknowledge as an opportunity for subsequent generations.
The PM World Journal and other open sources with simple editorial policy provide me with lasting and new contributions from month to month that make me think about the endless evolution, classification, and application of project management knowledge.”

“Over the years PMWJ has provided an opportunity for me to share insights and test new ideas and thinking in near real time. The professionalism of PMWJ and the richness of its content have made it both a desirable forum for me to publish but also a valuable and credible source of program and project management knowledge and thinking to have with clients and peers.
Through publishing on PMWJ I have made new professional “friends” even though we have never met in person. Their works have caused me to think deeper and be wiling to challenge conventional PM theory. Discovering you are not alone in this regard has benefited me and collectively has benefited us all.”

“The PM World Journal has come of age and contributed in no small measure to propagating the ideals of project Management. I’m happy to be a participating team member in contributing to the project Management family. This edition will showcase more interesting stories around the field of project Management and beyond. I sincerely look forward to an exciting outing.”

“PM World Journal, in my opinion, is the best source for project management professionals. Truthfully, I have no idea how, each month, so much information is packed into the publication – articles, interviews, book reviews, commentaries, and news, too. Beyond the breadth of the journal, the singular feature that sets it apart and makes it most appealing is its responsiveness. Authors are not waiting months to have their articles published; at most, just a few weeks. Thus, readers are provided the most current thinking there is in the profession. I am the creator of Earned Schedule (ES), which has its basis in Earned Value Management (EVM). Although EVM is a good project management system, the percentage of projects employing it is small. Thus, my contributions to the journal benefit only a small number of project managers. Despite this narrow niche area of project management, PMWJ has treated me and my submitted papers, so very well. The journal has helped immensely in propagating ES, for which I am forever indebted.”

“I’ve written articles for PM World Journal since 2016 and am very thankful to David Pells and his team for making it possible for me to publish them to a wide audience.
The greatest benefit of PM World Journal is the opportunity to drill down much deeper into a topic than a quick post on a social network or something similar would allow for. Indeed, the professional and thoughtful analyses of PMWJ’s Network of authors are the core assets of the magazine. They are thought-provoking, inspirational, and a great way to improve one’s understanding of project management.
My specific focus is a series of articles on Project Business, projects done by two or more parties under contract. Sometimes, hundreds of parties are involved, each with its distinct business interests, which makes it hard to align them and forge them together as a cross-corporate team for mission success. Another aspect that comes with project business: Project managers on the contractor side run their customer projects as profit centers.
Project Business is a high-risk business. It is widely ignored in Academia, associations, literature, and all other places where project management is discussed. So, I’m happy that PM World Journal is open to this vital topic. David, PMWJ team, go on with the outstanding work!”

“For several years, I have had the privilege of publishing my articles in the PM World Journal (PMWJ). This platform has given me the opportunity to share insights on agile in general and project management. Through my publications, I’ve connected with readers from various countries and professional associations.
The PM World Journal is much more than a digital publication; it is a vibrant hub for the global project management community. It brings together professionals, researchers, and practitioners to exchange ideas, share lessons learned, and reflect on emerging trends. PMWJ is a space where thought leadership meets practical experience, creating a bridge between theory and practice.
One of the most remarkable aspects of PMWJ is its inclusivity. It doesn’t limit itself to any single project management association but instead provides a broad view of global events, innovations, and research. The variety of content from original articles to book reviews and event announcements ensures that readers at all levels of experience find valuable insights to apply in their work.
I extend my deepest gratitude to David Pells and the entire PMWJ team for their dedication to fostering this global dialogue. PMWJ is, without a doubt, a cornerstone in the worldwide project management community, providing a platform for learning, sharing, and growth. I am proud to be part of this journey and look forward to continuing my contributions to this invaluable resource.
Thank you, PMWJ, for your enduring commitment to project management excellence.”

“PM World Journal is the best option for sounding out new and innovative ideas. PMWJ’s short publishing cycle and open access are invaluable resources for promulgating your ideas and getting feedback. Full academic papers in authoritative publications take 18 months or more from submission to publication. Before embarking on this process (or publishing a book) testing the water with new ideas published in PMWJ makes sense and helps develop and refine your thinking, thereby improving your more formal publications. If you are not an academic, PMWJ is often the only option for getting innovative ideas published. This publication policy keeps PMWJ at the absolute forefront of thinking in the world of project management.”

“The PM World Journal is a valuable platform where practitioners and researchers from different industries, professions, and world regions can share practical experiences and research results related to the project management profession. Numerous short reports and insights create comprehensive information valuable to researchers, educators, students, and practitioners. The PM World Journal has been a valuable asset to our research and innovation community since its inception. I want to use this opportunity to thank the editor of the PM World Journal for doing a great job.”

“For several years, I have benefited from publishing in the PM World Journal. This has allowed me to connect with a large group of readers. I focus on public projects, which are quite specific and significantly different from private projects. However, in recent years, both project management associations and—on the other hand—associations of public administration practitioners and scholars have been somewhat reluctant to engage with them. Even awareness of these differences is limited. Thanks to my publications in PMWJ, I have managed to draw attention to issues related to the specifics of public project management among readers from various associations and many countries.
Recently, I have been republishing my articles on LinkedIn. From there, I know that each month, in addition (since I don’t have access to PM World Journal’s visit statistics), several thousand readers view my articles, and I receive many interesting comments.
PMWJ not only publishes original articles on various aspects of project management but also features many other sections, such as announcements of major project management events and reviews of published books. Importantly, PMWJ does not limit itself to a single project management association but provides an overview of events from all major global and many local PM organizations.
For over 20 years, PMWJ and its predecessor, PM World Today, have accompanied project management professionals and enthusiasts worldwide. This journal has a prominent presence in the global project management landscape!”

It provides a global platform where professionals, practitioners, and thought leaders come together to share insights, research, and real-world applications in project management. Additionally, it is a dynamic global community where knowledge, experience, and thought leadership in project management come together.
PMWJ has allowed me to share my perspectives on leadership, agility, and transformation, reflect on industry trends, and connect with a diverse and global audience. The PMWJ’s commitment to quality and knowledge-sharing makes it an invaluable resource, not only for authors but for the entire project management community. I am grateful to be part of this vibrant network and look forward to contributing further.”

“Beyond the excitement of presenting at international conferences, contributing to the PM World Journal has profoundly connected me with a global audience of practitioners and academics. I appreciate PMWJ for fostering a space where thought leadership converges with practical insights, benefiting both seasoned professionals and emerging scholars. This esteemed platform has significantly amplified project management knowledge across diverse industries and disciplines. Moreover, the journal’s commitment to high editorial standards has inspired me to elevate my content and writing style, enhancing the clarity and impact of my contributions.
The reach of PMWJ is evident: my practitioner-focused articles have garnered over 3,000 reads, 30 citations, and endorsements from academics and engaged readers worldwide. This highlights PMWJ’s pivotal role in bridging the gap between theory and practice, making knowledge accessible and actionable. I commend the PMWJ team for their unwavering commitment to excellence and for promoting a global exchange of ideas. It is an honour to be part of this dynamic community, and I eagerly anticipate continuing this enriching journey of knowledge dissemination.”

“The PM World Journal is an extraordinary common communication domain for the global community of project management professionals, experts, researchers, practitioners, and enthusiasts. All the great authors in project management have written and continue to write for PMWJ, just as authors of all ages who had high-level content to share have found a place there. As an author, PMWJ has been and continues to be a unique series of opportunities for me to share research, reflections, and experiences with so many people—some of whom I have later developed wonderful friendships and/or professional relationships with—coming from different countries and cultures, yet all united under the common flag of cultural progress and using the shared language of project management.”

From my perspective, the journal has provided me with a platform to share my thoughts, insights and research on emerging issues affecting the application of risk management and what it means for the UK and European governments. “As a contributor to the PM World Journal, I’m delighted to share my perspective on this prestigious digital magazine and its invaluable contribution to the global project management community. It’s not just a publication; it’s a vibrant hub where seasoned experts, active practitioners, and dedicated researchers worldwide converge to share their knowledge, experiences, and research findings. The PMWJ truly shines in its breadth and depth of coverage, with articles that span the entire spectrum of project management, from traditional methodologies and best practices to cutting-edge research and emerging trends—a true testament to the spirit of collaboration and continuous learning within our field.
My own experience with the PMWJ has been consistently positive. What I appreciate most is the journal’s unwavering commitment to quality. The articles are well-researched, thought-provoking, and offer actionable insights that can be readily applied in real-world project scenarios.
Since publishing my article on the project managing my ankle fracture (2 years ago), I’ve received numerous comments from readers across the globe who found the framework presented to be highly useful in addressing how they could manage chronic disease. This engagement highlights the PMWJ’s reach and influence within the PM community and its ability to foster global conversations.
I highly recommend exploring the PMWJ archives for new readers and potential contributors. You’ll discover a wealth of information on various project management topics. It’s an invaluable resource for anyone looking to enhance their project management skills, stay ahead of the curve, and connect with a global community of professionals. “For several years, the PMWJ has provided a forum for me to discuss diverse issues on various aspects of extant project management-related topics, organization, processes, tools & techniques – for whatever they may be worth to others — as well as an opportunity to air my innovations & perspectives; and receive rapid feedback.
Long before I discovered the PMWJ, it has also been a fount of new knowledge from other practitioners for my continuous learning; and — as a trainer/facilitator — has enabled me to extend my reach beyond my immediate physical contacts.
Freed from the strictures of more academic-oriented contemporary journals, the PMWJ is an easily-accessible platform that welcomes contributions from practitioners, and would-be authors seeking an outlet to publish their ideas about project management. Furthermore, with the wealth of information accumulated over the years from its numerous authors from around the world, PMWJ’s library is a unique, invaluable, enduring resource for students, practitioners & researchers; now and for years to come.”
