I would like to bring to your attention my recently published book, PMBOK v8 Application Playbook, for possible inclusion, review, or mention in PM World Journal.
The book builds on the practitioner perspective reflected in my recent PM World Journal article, “Turning PMBOK® v8 from a PMP® Exam Reference to an Operating Delivery System.” Its central premise is straightforward: project management knowledge creates value only when it can be translated into practical delivery decisions.
PMBOK® v8 Application Playbook is a practitioner-focused guide designed to help project managers, project leaders, PMOs, executives, educators, and PMP® candidates move beyond simply understanding PMBOK® concepts to applying them in real organizational environments.
The book introduces a practical delivery operating model:
Mindset → Principles → Performance Domains → Focus Areas → Operating Logic and Tools, including AI Capability → Outcomes
This operating model connects project management thinking, decision-making, governance, delivery practices, and outcomes. Rather than treating principles, performance domains, and focus areas as separate concepts, the book demonstrates how they work together as an integrated project delivery system.
The book addresses a practical reality I have observed throughout more than 35 years in project delivery, information technology leadership, public-sector transformation, and academia: projects rarely fail because an organization lacks another template or methodology. They fail when ownership is unclear, governance becomes ceremonial, risk is reported but not acted upon, scope loses its connection to value, schedules become political promises, and project activity is mistaken for project outcomes.
