Topic: Cybersecurity and Data Security Through the Project Management Lens
The joint initiative by PMOGA India Hub and PMI – North India Chapter, in collaboration with the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad, marked a significant milestone in the realm of project management and cybersecurity. This in-person event, titled “Cybersecurity and Data Security Through the Project Management Lens,” was the first collaborative effort in India since the acquisition of PMO Global Alliance by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Conference Overview:
The conference aimed to explore the intersection of project management principles and cybersecurity/data security practices. With an esteemed lineup of speakers, the event promised insights, discussions, and best practices that bridge the gap between project management methodologies and the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity and data security.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Vishal Talwar, Director of IMT, Ghaziabad. Dr. Talwar highlighted the essential connection between project management and cybersecurity, emphasizing the need for collaborative initiatives to address modern challenges. He underscored the importance of bringing together academia, industry, and professional bodies to foster comprehensive solutions.
Dr. Amit Sareen, Dean (Academics), IMT, Ghaziabad following the welcome address, delivered the opening speech, expressing gratitude to all organizers, including IMT Alumni Mr. Gaurav Dhooper, who played a pivotal role in organizing this conference. Dr. Sareen emphasized the relevance of the chosen topic to management and set the tone for the conference.
His speech was followed by a felicitation ceremony of the distinguished speakers.
Mr. Gaurav Dhooper expressed gratitude to IMT Ghaziabad for its invaluable support in organizing the event. He also acknowledged the collaboration with PMI North India Chapter and highlighted the significance of PMI’s acquisition of PMO Global Alliance, making it the world’s largest PMO community with over 20,000 active volunteers.
Mr. Jay kumar, President of PMI North India Chapter, introduced the chapter and outlined their offerings, emphasizing their commitment to advancing project management practices in the region.
