Theofanis Giotis rejoins PMWJ Correspondents Team in Greece

 

Well known project management leader in Athens rejoins PMWJ correspondents team to report news from Greece

28 April 2024 – Dallas, TX, USA and Athens, Greece – PM World has announced the appointment of Mr. Theofanis Giotis as an International Correspondent for the PM World Journal (PMWJ) and PM World Library (PMWL).  Theofanis rejoins the PMWJ correspondents team after a hiatus of eight years during which time he pursued learning, teaching and leadership opportunities around the world.

Theofanis Giotis, BA, MSc, PhD c., CSAP has been managing companies, projects, programs, and portfolios in the EMEA region since 1987. He has 36 years of professional experience in Project, Program and Portfolio Management, Economics and General Management. He is a Thought Leader, Chief Storyteller, Agile Coach, Instructor, Consultant, Author, Trainer, Entrepreneur and senior Project/Program Manager. As an entrepreneur, consultant, international speaker and trainer, Theofanis has worked in different cultural environments in the EMEA region.

Theofanis served/serves: CEO of 12PM Consulting (2017-now), President and CEO of ITEC TOTAL SOLUTIONS (1995-2016), CEO of ITEC TRAINING SERVICES (1988-2010), first President of The Greek Chapter of Project Management Institute (PMI-GREECE) 2005-2014, Leader Scrum Alliance, Greek User Group since 2014, Vice President at PMI-GREECE 2017-2020 and President at PMI-GREECE 2020-2021.

Since 1987 he has managed hundreds of projects in the EMEA region using plan driven (waterfall) and change driven (agile) approaches. He has envisioned, planned, designed, developed & implemented hundreds of projects with 22.000+ consulting and training hours. Since 1992, he was heavily involved in Project and Program Management as part of a core team to setup the first Program Management Office (PMO) in Greece, and one of the first PMOs worldwide, for managing a €200,000,000 budget program with 16 projects.

He has given 250+ presentations worldwide and has passed more than 80 professional certifications. Since Sept. 2005, he has published 200+ articles related to Project Management. He has used Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) (ex. Microsoft Project, Project Server and Project Online since 1992).

Since 2007, Theofanis has been teaching Agile, Project, Program and Portfolio Management at postgraduate level at four universities as an Adjunct Professor. Theofanis represents Greek Standardization Organization (ELOT/ΕΛΟΤ is an ISO member) at ISO TC 258 for Project, Program and Portfolio Management Standard.

Theofanis holds a BA in Economics from University of Athens, Greece, a MSc in Management (O.R.) from Lancaster University, UK and he is a PhD candidate in Project Management at University of Piraeus. Also, he holds a Computer Programming/Systems Analysis degree from ACE College, Greece. He was certified as a PMP in 2004 and graduated from PMI Leadership Institute Masters Class (LIMC) (2006-2007).
