The PMI Madrid Chapter supports the Ukrainian people

Due to the Ukrainian war continuing, we as project managers could not continue without trying to support the Ukrainian people somehow. The PMI Madrid Board of Directors is aware of this problem and made an association agreement as follows:

AS A PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION, the PMI Madrid Chapter, driven by its mission and vision, focuses on promoting and developing a true professional sense in the practice of Project Management by valuing the passion and commitment that our partners and volunteers have. The purpose is to support each other in times of difficulty and the willingness to make available their knowledge and experience in helping in tangible and meaningful ways.

For months we have been witnessing the economic, commercial, and humanitarian consequences of the war in Eastern Europe caused by Russia’s military incursion into Ukraine, the situation in which PMI shows solidarity with Ukraine and supports all peace efforts. Also, during the last months, the European chapters have contacted the PMI Ukraine’s President to discuss possible options for help, especially in the humanitarian crisis in which many families, many of them of our professional colleagues, have been involved.

The Board of Directors of our PMI Chapter approved, at their last meeting, the symbolic monetary donation of 1 euro per active member of our association. The receiver of that money is the NGO World Central Kitchen. This NGO has been serving hot and nutritious meals to refugees from the conflict zone at border crossings in southern Poland and Romania, Moldova, and Hungary supporting local restaurants that prepare meals in eight Ukrainian cities, including Odesa Lviv, and Kyiv. Our wish is to see this conflict finish as soon as possible. Our Chapter is always ready to serve and promote social good.
