INTRODUCTION
In each report, I’ll try to give you insights about project associations in France and some projects.
PMI FRANCE
PMI in France was founded in 1995 and unified as one chapter PMI France in 2013.
With more 5000+ members, PMI France is the 1st Chapter outside of North America, 1st in Europe and regularly ranked between the 3rd to the 5th in the world.
PMI France is a unified Chapter with 12 regional “branchs”: each branch can organize conferences, webinars, workshops, networking events, to name a few.
“Good things happen when you join PMI”, this is one of PMI mottos. We can say now that marvelous things happen when you join PMI France Job Fair “Project Management Professional Days” (PMPD).
This year again, during 3 days, the PMPD did allow 22 partners & 7 schools to interact with about 600 students. More than 700 applications to the 400 Job posted. 100 Webinars, Workshops, and Speed recruiting sessions. 38 Countries & 68 schools represented.
Another good news is that the PMPD 2022 continues! The live part has ended, nevertheless the job fair continue till May 31st, 2022. Therefore, students, partners, and schools can still benefit from the various opportunities offered: Access the platform ; go through recorded webinars and workshops, browse posted jobs, upload CVs/resumes.
Some Major Projects & Programs in France
Paris, entirely bike-friendly by 2026
Plan Bike 2015-2020 some numbers
- From 200km in 2001 to 1094 km of bike roads (paths) in 2021
- 150 millions euros invested
Plan Bike 2021-2026[1]
- The investment will be 250 million euros to make Paris entirely bikeable.
- 130 kilometers of bike-safe pathways from 2021-2026 are planned
- 130 000 new bike parking lots will be created
- This new plan outlines other measures:
- Bike schools: to teach children to ride bikes in schools, add repair workshops in each district and encourage cycling tourism.
- Roads will be secured
- Priorities are given to bus, trams and bikes in the road
The corona outbreak was an opportunity to reset, reframe our way of working but also our way to move in cities. There is a boom in the development of repair shops either private or by associations.
On May, 2020, at the end of the strict French lockdowns, some bike pathways were created in Paris and in other cities to reduce the crowd in public transportation and address the needs of customers who were afraid of taking the crowded public transportation (we did not have any vaccine at that time). So ‘coronapistes’ (corona bike pathways) were created temporarily. It was a live experiment.
